Based out of the DC metro area, THE ROSE THEATRE CO. is a forward-thinking professional theatre company passionately rooted in the idea of innovating the theatrical experience and developing new works for the stage. Featuring celebrated award-winning actors, musicians, artists, directors, and story-tellers, audiences rave "THE ROSE pushes the boundaries of what theater could/should be."
THE ROSE runs on the generosity and talents of over 100 seasonally contracted professional artists under the artistic leadership of Leslie Kobylinski and an artistic team of recognized award-winning theater professionals.
THE ROSE's New Play Development Series | FIRST DRAFT celebrates the idea that new plays have an important place in the future of American theater and that audiences are an integral part of the process. Our new play events are free-of-charge and available at friendly accessible venues.
For more than a dozen seasons, THE ROSE has been lucky to work with some of the most vibrant playwrights in the country. We've debuted over 45 new plays with more than half receiving full productions in DC, on Broadway and around the globe.
