About the Playwright |
James L. Crowell, despite the repeated admonishments of H.L. Mencken about the dangers of “reporter schools,” holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon and has taught journalism at the college level. He has also worked as a sportswriter, general assignment reporter, and copy editor at the Eugene Register-Guard, Bend Bulletin, LaGrande Observer, and Portland Oregonian. Crowell is the author of historical plays about John and Abigail Adams (“Your Humble Servant”), Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings (“Home to Monticello”) and a situation comedy, “For the Sake of the Children.” He lives with his wife, Judith, in Bend, Oregon.
