Richard Byrne is a playwright who lives in Washington, DC. His work has been produced at Taffety Punk Theatre Company and WSC/Avant Bard and he has won first prizes in the A. E. Hotchner Playwriting Festival and the Prague Post Playwriting Festival. As a working journalist, he served as an editor at the WASHINGTON CITY PAPER and THE CHRONICLE OF HIGHER EDUCATION. His articles have appeared in the THE WASHINGTON POST, THE GUARDIAN, TIME, THE NATION, NEW YORK PRESS and THE NEW REPUBLIC.
